This watch is all I need. Battery life is awesome. I have to charge it maybe once a week, unlike my galaxy that would not even last a day.
This is a nice watch. I like the functionality (sleep tracking, pedometer etc) and it's a nice looking watch. Unfortunately this watch is missing a critical feature I need. While it does track your heart rate, it does not broadcast your heart rate using ANT+ or Bluetooth. Had to dig quite deep to find that information as Garmin doesn't make it easy. The more expensive models do have that capability, but the more expensive watches just don't look nice on a female wrist in my opinion. I am a female professional leader and I can't walk around wearing a heavy black rubber looking watch on my wrist with all kinds of buttons sticking out.
I bought the Garmin Venu 2s to replace a Fitbit Charge 3. 3 Fitbit users in my house and 2 devices died or broke right at the 1 year mark...even with all that, I am on the fence about keeping this Garmin
The Venu 2s is amazing as a Smart watch. It looks great, has a lot of cool stats and features, and my sleep score seems to account for real life. Garmin sees my history and seems to go, 'hey good job last night was better than average!" A similar night sleep with my Fitbit would always get bad scores even when i felt pretty refreshed and rested. I compared it to all the other models and picked Venu 2s for the heavy list of tech and 2021 release date expecting that to mean better capabilities overall. With all the tech in it, I still can't get the dang thing to sync with any of my running apps. (ex: Live track a walk/run with a stroller or mower and you get 0 steps for the activity.) Fitbit was able to track those things and give me what i assumed was accurate step counts even when my arm was on the stroller for 20 minutes.
The apps are the issue. Fitbit has one app which connects across all platforms able to link to a lot of third party games and programs easily and syncs with ease. The Garmin...sigh...to do all the tracking in a similar way, I now have to have 6 apps. Garmin has 3; #1 for the stats, #2 for the PC (device updates), and #3 for adding apps and watch faces (IQ). Then you have to add MyFitnessPal for food tracking, Strava to sync with running apps, and google fit to connect to third party apps.
Its cool for people that like to see steps and casual track but if you are actually trying to move and log all your activities, this is really needy and may not even do all the things you need without a bunch more apps and devices to support it.
I have had this watch for a year. I have abused it thoroughly. I have bashed the watch face on doorways and furniture countless times... It remains completely scratch free. The battery has held up well. I feel it is very accurate with flights and steps and sleep tracking. For sleep tracking it is more accurate than my sleep number smart bed. I do have to change the straps from the silicone because I have eczema and my skin freaks out with silicone. But I have found decent, beautiful replacement straps on Amazon. I really couldn't be happier. Ended up buying the bigger version for my dad after he had a radical surgery. I loved the emergency call and fall features, and it also was very accurate in alerting us to his AFib heart condition following surgery. I use the Spotify, Google pay, and even bought a 3rd party weather radar app that I end up using more often than I thought I would. It really is a great watch. Highly recommend.
