Used for unattached garage exterior lights, without the need for a 3-way switch installed in the house. Very handy!
This is a nice upgrade from the previous Wemo generation. In addition to Thread support the improved wire connections leave more room in the back for the tight spaces.
The included neutral wire extender is a nice rough which I ended up needing. Overall very nice.
This does not work as a 3 way switch even though its advertised, nor does their tech support have any idea or urgency on providing a firmware update. This was released months ago and actually thought the first one I bought was defective (You have to click the button twice to turn off and twice to turn on, but in the Apple home app, the status changes after one click, so it has no idea whether the light is actually on or off) so I returned it, only to get another one performing the same way. The OEM tech support has for months responded with "They are currently working with our development team to determine if this is the correct behavior as it was not documented in the Quick Start Guide included in the box.". Heres an idea - take 10 min to install one in your demo area and you will be able to see this is broken. This response is laughable and Belkin Wemo should be absolutely embarrassed by the fact that this product got released like this (hello quality control), but even more so that its been months without any type of fix being released.
I was planning on deploying 40 of these all over my house, but now I am considering going with Eve's new Thread switch. I can forgive a mistake, but to not release a fix after months of it being reported everywhere, and to also give your reps such an idiotic response for the customers is causing me to lose complete trust in your brand.
Now if you want it for a single pole, then it's great. It has a fast response time and has not disconnected yet. But I would be cautious to tie yourself to this brand because they clearly, by their response, have never used a light switch in their lives.
Isn’t compatible with wemo app. Also u it s a true 3 way switch. You have to double press yge switch to turn off or on.
